We all need a little extra support sometimes, including in our mental health and well-being. Your student’s mental health and well-being is UW-Stout's Student Counseling Center’s number one priority. We offer individual, group and couples counseling sessions to students at no additional cost, and all sessions are confidential.
We’re located on the fourth floor of Bowman Hall (the Clock Tower building) if your student ever needs help. There are three ways that your student can schedule an appointment with us:
- Call 715-232-2468 during business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Stop by our office during business hours, located at 410 Bowman Hall.
- Schedule an online appointment for an initial triage appointment or for ongoing, individual counseling.
Our director is Chasidy Faith, PhD in counseling psychology, Licensed Psychologist.
Chasidy works with Ann Smith, MS, LPC, our associate director and training coordinator, as well as an amazing, compassionate team of licensed counselors and support staff. Counseling staff also hold various coordinator roles to help support students’ wellbeing, including a case manager, co-outreach coordinators, groups coordinator, inclusion and belonging coordinator, and an alcohol and other drug education coordinator. The center also has up to four masters-level counseling interns, many of whom are working on their M.S. degree through Stout’s clinical mental health counseling program.
We also offer You.uwstout.edu, a self-help and well-being web platform to help your student navigate life and campus on their terms with independent goal setting, skill building, assessments, and evidence-based content on a large variety of well-being topics. Through this web-based application, they can also connect with a 24/7 mental health crisis service available via phone call.
Crisis and emergency support
As always, if your student is experiencing an emergency, they should call 911. Mental health crisis help is available 24/7, with resources listed on the back of your student's Blue Devil ID.
