Bethanne serves as a professor of Human Development and Family Studies in the department of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Human Services. 

Additionally, she is the program director for the Human Development and Family Studies Customized Instruction. Bethanne teaches primarily in the customized instruction program but does oversee all the internship for the HDFS program. Bethanne has co-authored 5 textbooks on children’s socialization, life span development and scholarly and academic writing. Additionally, she has presented her both nationally and internationally. Since working primarily with returning adults, her most recent research focuses on improving online learning for the returning adult.

Prior to coming to the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Bethanne was an assistant professor at Indiana State University in the department of Family and Consumer Science. Additionally, Bethanne worked at Westat which is a leader in research, data collection and analysis, technical assistance, evaluation, and communications. While at Westat, Bethanne served as a senior study director and worked on the National Children’s Study.

When Bethanne is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family. Having lived in Florida previously, they enjoy going to Disney World as often as possible. Bethanne also enjoys watching bad reality TV and reading romance novels.
