Mike Mills is an Assistant Professor of Technology Education. Mike is passionate about Career and Technical Education and what it can provide students. In addition to teaching in the School of Education, Mike will also be doing work outreach and curriculum for fab labs. 

Mike joins us from South Dakota where he spent 17 school years teaching high school cabinetmaking/woodworking. During that time Mike also spent 4 years serving as the State Director of SkillsUSA South Dakota. Mike is originally from Osakis, MN which is in the Alexandria, MN area. After graduating high school, Mike attended college in Utah and graduated with a B.S. in Technology Education from Southern Utah University in 2005. During college, Mike worked to gain industry teaching endorsement in cabinetry by working at a cabinet door shop. 

Mike completed his student teaching at Uintah Basin Applied Technology College in the high school cabinetry program. Prior to completing his Bachelor of Science degree, Mike graduated with an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in criminal justice from Southern Utah University. After completing his second year of teaching, Mike started his Master of Science degree in Educational Technology and graduated in 2009 from Dakota State University. In August 2023 Mike graduated with his Doctor of Education degree in Educational Practice and Leadership from the University of North Dakota, where he specialized in higher education. 

Mike is excited to be transitioning to higher education where he will be able to work with future teachers and leaders in Technology Education, and Career and Technical Education.
