Campus-Wide Energy Committee

Helping UW-Stout reduce our energy consumption, move toward clean energy, and neutralize greenhouse gases
In this Section

We are faculty, staff, and students who work to improve UW-Stout's energy efficiency, decrease energy consumption, and move toward clean energy.

What does the Waste Reduction Work Group do?

  • Recommend the implementation of policies, procedures, and projects aimed at reducing UW-Stout's energy consumption, including institutional and individual behaviors affecting our energy consumption
  • Help manage the Focus on Energy program and procedure, maximizing opportunities for obtaining financial rebates
  • Provide recommendations for the campus to drive down energy consumption and costs aimed at meeting our Carbon Commitment goals
  • Facilitate implementation of approved energy projects (e.g., LED lighting retrofits, renewable energy projects)

This committee is co-chaired by Zenon Smolarek, Associate Director of Facilities Management and Kadi Wright, Sustainability Manager.
